Summer Internship in Brussels
Travel Europe
Travel is an integral part of the Brussels Summer Internship Program!
On one weekend of the program, students participate in a field trip around Belgium. This field trip tours historic cities such as Antwerp, Bruges, Ghent, and Ieper. Students learn about Belgium’s history and explore its wealth of historic, architectural and artistic treasures.
Except for that weekend, every Friday of the program is free for the students’ own personal travel on a three-day weekend. Hopping a bus, train or plane is easy to do from Brussels! Brussels is at the heart of Western Europe, and it enjoys trains and discounted airline flights to everywhere. Within a two-hour train ride, you can be in five different countries, where seven different languages are spoken. Within three hours of flight, you can be anywhere in the continent. Brussels is the ideal base for European travel and students at American University’s Brussels Center see the continent!
